One of the most difficult things anyone can do, at least I think it is, is to evaluate themselves.

Pursuing my All American Softball Dream has helped me figure out where I'm strong and where I need improvement.

So, here's my take on what I've been told and what I think about my game.
    Strengths:
  • My bat . . . I love to hit line drives and homers and the coolest is when I see the defense move around because I'm at the plate.

  • Defense.  Running, diving, throwing someone out at the plate, is there anything better than that?

  • I've been told I'm very coachable and from what my coaches have told me, that's a strength.
Weaknesses, or, a few of the things I am working on:
  • I continue improving on my ability to 'hit it where it's pitched'. As a power hitter, I used to make the mistake of trying to pull everything. Now, I'm more comfortable going the other way; when that's where it's pitched. Plus, in some game situations, taking an inside pitch and putting it 'behind the runner' is critical to our team's success..

  • I'm primarily a centerfielder and continue to work on how to play the ball off the bat from other outfield postions.

  • I've really worked on my flexibility and overall conditioning; especially this past year. The thing I really need to concentrate on is hydrating, especially when we're playing 3 games in a day.
